Antarctica - January-February 2006          Chinstrap Penguin Colony on Half Moon Island
The first recorded visit to Half Moon Island was in February 1820 by an American sealer, Nathaniel Palmer. Our visit was in February 2006, 176 years later, and I bet it hasn’t changed a great deal in that amount of time. There aren’t too many places in the world that you can say that about, but Antarctica is rare. The island’s inhabitants included these Chinstrap penguins.
